Instructions
  1. Place the fruit in a baking dish.
  2. Combine the remaining ingredients in a saucepan and heat until the sugar is dissolved-do not boil.
  3. Pour the liquid over the fruit and bake covered in a preheated 350F (180C) oven until the fruit is tender, 20 to 40 minutes, depending on the ripeness of the fruit.
  4. Serve warm, chilled, or at room temperature.
